Assistant / Associate Director of Communications, Digital Communications

The Tennessee Municipal League is searching for an energetic, creative and committed professional to advance the organization’s social media, web presence, communications content development and graphic designThe position serves an important role in supporting digital communications and educational efforts with municipalities, state government and other audiences. The position is located within the TML staff in Nashville with the potential for some remote work. The position is full-time with paid benefits.

Reporting to the Senior Director of Communications, the incumbent will work as a member of the TML communications team and provide support in digital communications, social media, and educational programming. The incumbent will also provide support to the Senior Director in the areas of message development, measuring communications analytics and effectiveness, and graphic design and content development.

Job Function/Responsibilities

  • Reporting to the senior director, manage the posting and creating of content across various digital and social media platforms, including TML social media platforms and the organization’s website.
  • Monitor communications analytics and identify effective strategies and actions to foster improved brand management, visibility, content delivery and organizational image.
  • Provide support to executive communications team in message development, communications strategies and delivery via various digital media and platforms.
  • Assist in the development of presentations, educational programming such as webinars, etc.
  • Contribute to the design and layout of various communications publications, conference visibility and branding, and website.
  • Provide thought leadership on keeping digital communications and platform imaging fresh, appealing and current.
  • Possess a working knowledge of AI applications across communications platforms and media.
  • Attend TML internal and external meetings upon request, including travel to conferences and, on occasion, meetings with member cities.

Education/Experience

Bachelor’s Degree Required. Digital media, video and content development experience preferred. Compensation: $65,000 – $85,000, plus paid benefits.
