Annual Salary Range: $64,090 - $83,772 (depending on qualifications)  

The City of Fayetteville will soon have an opening for a Police Chief. Fayetteville is located in Lincoln County. This position is responsible for the Fayetteville Police Department operations by administering, planning, organizing and directing the activities of the department. Duties also include the protecting of properties, facilities and people in accordance with the enforcement of laws and ordinances. 

The Police Chief is responsible for overseeing the department’s budget, personnel, and equipment both directly and indirectly through subordinates. Responsible for all police operations and administration.  

Interested and qualified applicants should have a high school diploma with graduation from a college or university with a degree in police administration or related field preferred. Must have ten (10) years’ experience in law enforcement administration and/or supervisory experience or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities for this job.  

The qualified applicant must have Police Officer Certification by the State of Tennessee (preferred) or be eligible for transition as described in Tennessee P.O.S.T. rules. Qualified candidates must be a legal resident of Tennessee with a valid TN driver license.
